Cricket met community spirit in full force this past weekend as the South East Cricket Association hosted its annual SECA Community Day, drawing families, fans, and players from all corners of the region.
Held at the picturesque Hillview Grounds, the event featured friendly exhibition matches, junior skills challenges, coaching workshops, and appearances from local cricket legends. From backyard-style six-a-side games to food stalls and live music, the day celebrated more than just cricket—it celebrated connection.

SECA President Aaron Mitchell reflected on the event’s success:
“Community Day is our way of saying thank you. Cricket is built on more than competition—it's built on people, passion, and belonging. Seeing kids play beside their heroes is what it’s all about.”
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY INCLUDED:
A thrilling mixed-gender exhibition match between club veterans and youth academy players
A “Bowl at the Stumps” contest with prizes for every age group
Free gear giveaways sponsored by SECA Partners 2024/25
Open Q&A with league coaches and administrators
SECA plans to make Community Day a recurring fixture at multiple venues throughout the season, bringing the spirit of cricket directly into the heart of local towns.
